Morning: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Early in the morning, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park. The journey takes approximately two hours and passes through scenic Maasai plains and rural villages.

Upon arrival at the park, begin your game drive. Tarangire is especially well known for its elephants, which are often seen in large family groups. You may also spot giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and various antelope species as you explore the park’s open savannah and riverine landscapes.

Midday: Game Drive and Picnic Lunch

Continue with an extended game drive through different areas of the park. The Tarangire River is the main water source and attracts many animals, especially during the dry season.

Around midday, stop at a designated picnic site inside the park and enjoy a packed lunch while overlooking the surrounding wilderness. After lunch, resume your game drive and search for predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

Afternoon: Final Game Drive and Return to Arusha

In the afternoon, enjoy a final game drive as you slowly make your way toward the park exit. Tarangire is also a bird lover’s paradise, home to over 500 bird species, making it an excellent destination for birdwatching.

Later in the afternoon, depart the park and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the early evening.
