OVERVIEW
DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha – Safari Briefing
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet your safari guide and transfer to your hotel in Arusha. Spend the rest of the day relaxing, recovering from your journey, and enjoying a safari briefing to prepare for the adventure ahead. Accommodation is booked separately.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your safari begins as you drive to Tarangire National Park, a haven for massive herds of elephants, ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch, tracking predators and prey through varied terrain. Keep an eye out for lions, giraffes, and colorful birdlife. After the game drive, head to your lodge or camp outside the park.
Day 3: Tarangire to Lake Natron
Leave the crowds behind as you journey to the remote and mystical Lake Natron, located in the shadow of the active Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano. This off-the-beaten-path destination offers flamingo-filled lakes, surreal landscapes, and Maasai cultural experiences. Arrive in time to visit Engaresero Waterfalls or explore the lakeshore at sunset.
Day 4: Lake Natron to Serengeti National Park
Drive from Lake Natron into the world-famous Serengeti National Park through the northeastern corridor. Enjoy game drives along the way as you cross dramatic landscapes and encounter migrating herds, predators, and majestic plains game. Arrive at your camp in central or northern Serengeti in the evening.
Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti
Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti, with morning and afternoon game drives. Depending on the season, you may witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, spot lions on the hunt, or marvel at leopards lounging in acacia trees. Optional hot air balloon safaris are available at sunrise (extra cost). Return to your camp in the evening.
Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, continue your game drive through Serengeti en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, stop at scenic spots, such as the Olduvai Gorge (optional) or Maasai bomas for cultural interaction. Overnight near the crater rim or in Karatu town.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a wildlife paradise with some of the highest predator densities in Africa. Spot black rhinos, elephants, lions, and hippos as you traverse the crater floor. Enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool, then ascend and return to your accommodation in Karatu.
Day 8: Lake Manyara National Park – Return to Arusha
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a final safari experience. This compact gem is known for tree-climbing lions, lush groundwater forests, and flocks of flamingos. After a half-day game drive and lunch, return to Arusha for your final night or airport transfer.
Day 9: Departure
Enjoy a leisurely morning before your transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha for your onward journey. Optional souvenir shopping or cultural visits can be arranged if time all
