Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Settle in, relax after your flight, and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobabs and enormous elephant herds. Enjoy a full-day game drive along the Tarangire River, which draws countless animals—lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and varied birdlife—especially during the dry season.

Main highlight: Elephants, baobab trees, classic African scenery.

Day 3: Tarangire – Central Serengeti

After an early breakfast, head towards the Serengeti National Park. Drive through the Ngorongoro highlands and stop at the viewpoint overlooking the Crater. Arrive in the central Serengeti in time for an afternoon game drive. This area is excellent year-round for big cats and plains wildlife.

Main highlight: Central Serengeti’s resident predators and plains game.

Day 4: Central Serengeti – Northern Serengeti (Kogatende)

Today you drive further north to Kogatende, where the Migration often concentrates between July and October. This is the best place to see dramatic river crossings and predator action. Enjoy an en-route game drive and settle in your northern camp.

Main highlight: Possible Mara River crossings, huge herds of wildebeest and zebra.

Day 5: Northern Serengeti (Kogatende)

Spend a full day exploring the northern Serengeti. Your guide will position you near the Mara River, where patient waiting can be rewarded with spectacular river crossings. Crocodiles, lions, and other predators often lurk nearby.

Main highlight: Full-day search for migration crossings and predator encounters.

Day 6: Northern Serengeti – Central Serengeti

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in the north before returning to the central Serengeti. Along the way, watch for cheetahs, elephants, and large prides of lions. Arrive at your lodge or camp for an afternoon rest or short game drive.

Main highlight: Scenic drive across Serengeti’s varied habitats.

Day 7: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend partway into the Crater floor for a short game drive or stop at Maasai villages en route (optional). Arrive at your lodge on the Crater rim and enjoy panoramic views at sunset.

Main highlight: Crater rim scenery and possible Maasai cultural visits.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

Today you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. Spot endangered black rhinos, elephants, hippos, and large lion prides in this incredible wildlife haven. After lunch on the Crater floor, drive back to Arusha where your safari ends (or transfer to the airport for your onward flight).
