DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you’ll be met and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. Settle in, relax from your travels, and enjoy a romantic welcome dinner to kick off your honeymoon. Depending on your arrival time, you can take a short nature walk or explore the nearby coffee plantations.

Main highlight: Tranquil start to your honeymoon with views of Mount Meru or Kilimanjaro in the distance.

Day 2: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Depart from Arusha in the morning and head to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant population and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive through the park where you may spot lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and a variety of birdlife. The Tarangire River draws many animals during the dry season, offering exceptional wildlife viewing.

Main highlight: Massive elephant herds, baobabs, and authentic safari atmosphere.

Day 3: Full Day in Tarangire National Park

Spend the day exploring more remote corners of Tarangire. In the early morning, you can enjoy a sunrise game drive when predators are most active. After breakfast, return to the lodge or continue to explore. Optional experiences include a guided walking safari or a sunrise hot air balloon ride. In the evening, enjoy sundowners overlooking the savannah.

Main highlight: Close-up encounters with elephants and scenic landscapes dotted with baobab trees.

Day 4: Tarangire – Lake Manyara – Karatu

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This small but diverse park is home to tree-climbing lions, hippos, flamingos, and a large baboon population. Enjoy a game drive through the lush groundwater forest and along the lakeshore. In the afternoon, head to Karatu in the Ngorongoro Highlands, a peaceful area surrounded by rolling hills and farmland.

Main highlight: Tree-climbing lions, flamingos, and picturesque landscapes.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Safari

Rise early and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World” and is one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five in a single day. Enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool before continuing your drive. Later, return to your lodge on the crater rim or highlands.

Main highlight: Incredible density of wildlife including lions, rhinos, and large herds of wildebeest and zebra.

Day 6: Karatu – Serengeti National Park

Depart after breakfast and drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area en route to the Serengeti. Stop for scenic views and Maasai encounters along the way. Once inside the Serengeti, enjoy a game drive as you make your way to your camp. You’ll likely see gazelles, lions, and possibly cheetahs during your drive.

Main highlight: Transition from highlands to open plains, with abundant wildlife along the way.

Day 7: Central Serengeti Safari

Spend the day on game drives through the Central Serengeti, a region known for its predator sightings and resident wildlife. Track prides of lions, cheetahs lounging on termite mounds, and possibly leopards in acacia trees. The Seronera River Valley provides excellent year-round wildlife viewing.

Main highlight: Big Cats of the Serengeti and stunning open savannah.

Day 8: Serengeti Adventure Continues

Enjoy another day exploring different areas of the Serengeti depending on the season. If traveling during the Great Migration (approx. June–Oct in Northern Serengeti, Dec–March in Southern Serengeti), your game drives will follow the herds of wildebeest and zebra. Optional balloon safari offers breathtaking aerial views of the plains at sunrise.

Main highlight: Seasonal wildlife spectacles and private bush breakfast opportunities.

Day 9: Serengeti – Zanzibar

After a final morning game drive, board a bush flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to a beach resort on the island’s north or east coast. The afternoon is yours to relax with your feet in the sand and a cocktail in hand.

Main highlight: Scenic transition from wild savannah to tropical paradise.

Day 10: Zanzibar Beach Day

Relax and unwind on Zanzibar’s pristine beaches. Swim in the warm Indian Ocean, enjoy a couple’s spa treatment, or simply sunbathe by the pool. In the evening, dine under the stars with a special honeymoon setup.

Main highlight: Pure relaxation, spa indulgence, and romantic seaside ambiance.

Day 11: Zanzibar Exploration

Enjoy optional activities such as a guided tour of historic Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can wander narrow alleys and learn about Swahili culture. Visit a spice farm or embark on a traditional dhow cruise at sunset.

Main highlight: Cultural immersion, local history, and beautiful island views.

Day 12: Water Activities & Leisure

Spend your final full day enjoying optional water-based adventures such as snorkeling, diving, or kayaking. Take a boat trip to Mnemba Atoll for world-class marine life. Alternatively, relax at your resort and enjoy a romantic beach dinner.

Main highlight: Snorkeling, ocean excursions, or simply enjoying your last full day in paradise.
